Globalization

1. Summary: : The authors of our text said that Globalization consists primarily of two major directional tendencies, increasing global connectivity and increasing global consciousness. I know the Globalization just as Globalization. I didn`t know about that there are many kind of Globalization: Economic, Politic, Culture. Our world communicate not just one way but two ways. We already know that our world affect to other for example the western world and eastern world communicate continuously. It can be existed main stream. But this stream is not one way. Because of technology our globalization spread more fast and fast. This kind of movement make many changes in our world.

Because of the Cultural Globalization, all people in the world can understand the meaning of the middle finger, Even though the middle finger has no meaning in their traditional culture. And also Because of the Political Globalization, the national security problem in South Korea THAAD and U.S military base in Seoul are interesting issues of Russian federation and people`s republic of China. Because of the Economic Globalization, The National Economy is not independent but interdependent. The Great Depression is most proper example. 

Because of the many kind of globalization, there are really many organizations. The Economic aspect: WTO, IMF, OECD, OPEC …  The Political aspect: UN. NATO, NPT, and there are also many Non-Government organization for many reasons. For example, Green peace, Medecins Sans Frontieres, Red Cross … If we want or not. The problem of our nation`s politic and economic problem are not only our problem. For example, Nuclear weapon test in North Korea is not only Korean politic problem but also Global politic problem. And The subprime mortgage crisis in U.S 2008, It was not only U.S economic problem but also Global economic problem. For last, Brexit is not only the matter of the U.K political and economic problem but also Europa and World political and economic problem. Because of the Globalization, The Nations in the world affect and influence each other.

2. What was interesting/what did you learn: I was interesting about many kind of Globalization. Even though I live in the globalization society, I couldn`t recognize the cultural, economic, and politic aspect of globalization. I guess that because for me globalization is just like air and water, so I don`t aware about that. Many things make possible Globalization. Especially, The technology has the great contribution of globalization. Just for my grandparent generation, there was less developed technology and it means that less globalization society. But The Technology of our generation is more developed and we live in more globalization society. For me, it was really interesting that technology make possible the globalization. And I was also interesting about the problem of globalization. There are many kind of Global problem. One of the Global problem is refugee. I think that the problem of refugee can make the another problem in many Nations. We already know that many Ultraright parties in Europa. And also many problem of that. I think that Globalization is like a coin. There are not only bright side but also dark side.  

3. Discussion Point: I am just curious about that the first movement of modern Globalization. We already know that there was also globalization in ancient age. The China and Rome recognized each other and also they did some import and export by silk road. We also know that in korea , There were really many merchandiser who came from really many country especially Saudi Arabic. there was Goryeo dynasty in Korea so that`s the reason why the name of our nation is Korea.    But how about the modern Globalization? I think that the start of the modern Globalization is 18C Imperialism. That time, there was huge stream from western to eastern. That time European thought that they have great duty to demythicize other peoples in world. So they went to abroad and made colony and spread out their culture, religion, language and think. We know that there are really many nations in Africa where use the French to their mother language. And also there are many nations where use English to their mother language. I think that this are the results of modern Globalization. I think that this kind of stream is the start of modern Globalization. So I am just curious about that my colleague`s opinion. And I am also curious about that “Affect some specific nation to Globalization and the world more than others nations? “  I think that some specific nations can affect to Globalization and the world. Just for example, I think that Japan affect to globalization and the world. Because Japan is more rich than Korea. We already know that the Japan is the third great economic nation and the member of G7 Summit. And not just economic aspect, Japanese culture is more famous and popular than Korean culture (as I know.). as the same the U.S affect to Globalization and the world more than any other nations. Because the U.S Is the Superpower. I am curious about that also my colleague`s opinion.
